- ½ head cauliflower, leaves removed
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste

- Set up a steamer in a pot with an inch of water. Place the cauliflower and garlic cloves in the steamer, cover, and cook over medium heat until cauliflower is very tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove cauliflower and garlic and place in a mixing bowl. Add butter and mash until desired smoothness. Stir in milk and cheddar cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
